Hurricane Helene Relief Effort

Impact Survey / Disaster Relief Fund

Urgent request for assistance

In partnership with the NC Medical Society, the NC Chapter ACC is sharing a survey to gauge the impact of the storm on medical practices and on patient care.

This outreach and information gathering initiative will help the NC Medical Society’s support of those impacted through its Disaster Relief Fund , which is being coordinated by the NCMS Foundation.

As we continue to work together to recover from Hurricane Helene, one priority effort we are focusing on is gauging the impact of the storm on medical practices and on patient care. With communication connectivity returning, a survey has been developed for dissemination to the affected region. From the responses generated by the questionnaire, we will compile data to help move the recovery response forward.

For those in the impacted region of the state, we are asking that they please complete the survey

For those not in the impacted region, we are asking that they please help by sharing the survey notice with colleagues and practices that are. We are hoping to access as many communication channels as possible to get this survey disseminated, so their assistance in this crucial window of response would be appreciated. It is better that some receive it multiple times than not at all.

You may recall the NCMS Foundation activating a similar effort in 2020 to help deliver $25M in support to over 600 practices that were on the brink of insolvency due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition to seeking survey responses from those impacted by Helene, we are asking that our statewide community, and beyond, to respond in support of this fund which will help practices devastated by the storm and will ultimately help patients in need of care. Gifts are tax deductible.

Also, if you know of any corporate and/or nonprofit organizations who might be willing to provide support, please respond by email. Every donation makes a difference and your help in spreading this information with a message of urgency and encouragement would be appreciated.

This is a time when we can all rally to help those whose life and livelihood have been changed immensely. We look forward to being a part of the relief effort through identifying practice and patient care impact and through the Disaster Relief Fund . Your partnership and support are crucial and greatly appreciated
