FIT Seminar: Preparing for the Profession
The Chapter held a successful FIT seminar on March 5 to discuss Preparing for the Profession presented by Dr. Jim Zidar and Dr. Jordan Tannenbaum. They spoke on how to prepare for the clinical workload of an attending and a how to build a smart financial plan.
Fellows learned the importance of understanding billing and coding prior to becoming an attending, how to avoid financial pitfalls, approaches to pay off student loan debt, where to invest, and a normal amount of RVUs to shoot for in your first year.
There were 8 total fellows in attendance for our first seminar! Given the success and the continued interest, we will plan to have another one in June.
